Darcy Lewis as Queen Persephone of the Dead, and Loki as Hades

“My Queen,” Hades said, kneeling before her. “If you will have me, I wish to remain by your side.”

Queen Persephone walked slowly towards the boy, the wilting flowers on her dress falling to cover the ground in dark petals. “By my side?” she asked. “Will you not miss your father, boy?”

“It would be unfilial of me not to, my Queen,” Hades said, daring to look up at her. “But were I to return to him, I would miss you more.”

The Queen smiled suddenly, looking down at Hades through her lashes. She looked almost shy, he thought.

“The boy has the blood of a hundred brazen bulls, and a tongue sweeter than the nectar of flowers, I see,” said Queen Persephone, looking into his eyes. “Explain your desire. The land of the living is rich above with sound and colour, why would you make my realm your choice?”

“You walk in darkness, and the end of all things. You are the Goddess of Death, the One Who Puts Out All Light. You are my Queen," He bowed his head in reverence, and continued. "All the colour and beauty of the living lands pale in the embrace of your darkness, and I do not belong up there, for I am yours.”
