When I was making the separate Jane and Darcy gifsets, I came across this scene and couldn’t *not* gif it. It occurred to me that, aside from Agents of S.h.i.e.l.d, the Jane and Darcy friendship is the only female friendship depicted onscreen in the MCU.

I wonder why. Any thoughts?

And they’re not even truly friends. Their relationship is one of employee/employer, except Darcy doesn’t even get paid for her labor.

Just sayin.

Ok so one of the problems I have with your statement thusspakekate, is that you acknowledge that Darcy isn’t paid and yet negate their friendship. Like what exactly do you think keeps Darcy by Jane’s side when Jane has nothing to give her? Its loyalty. In Thor 2 we see that Darcy is still with Jane despite still not getting paid and the way they interact… that’s how me and my sister interact. That’s how me and my best friend of 15 years interact. That’s how women who have nothing to give each other but loyalty and love and respect interact and still keep it comedic.  You can’t dismiss the richness of Darcy and Jane’s friendship because if you do you dismiss one of the most important parts of both these women’s lives. Like why exactly do you think Darcy stays there?  There’s no proof of anything but loyalty there. And Jane? Jane was trying to move on with her life after Thor but somehow she still takes Darcy with her to London, and since Darcy doesn’t get paid who do you think is paying for her transatlantic flight?  If its Darcy that’s loyalty and friendship, if its Jane that’s because she knows Darcy is the one person who stands by her when all else is going to hell. Which is also proof of loyalty and friendship. Like how do you just dismiss that?
