At long last! After many long hours, I have finally finished this post about norse healing. It is filled with magic, herbs, and saints – and I do hope that you all find something of interest there!

I hope you all don’t mind me giving this a quick boost! Indeed it may be shameless self-promotion, but I think there are many who missed this post due to Easter weekend and such.

Fireside History: Healing in the Medieval North.

veliseraptor:

one of my favorite headcanons about Loki is that he’s not even just a scholar but a full on academic, he has this half-written treatise on magical theory that he’s been working on for multiple centuries attempting to perfect it, he’s the kind of guy who at least mentally nitpicks peoples’ understandings of minor points of information and wants people to cite their sources

at some point he learned that this is not something most people find interesting and/or endearing so he started keeping it to himself but deep down there is a total nerd just waiting for someone to ask the right question and seem convincingly interested so he can go off on a two hour enthusiastic lecture illustrated with illusions

Loki, I thought the world of you.

image

I thought we were gonna fight side by side forever.

image

But at the end of the day, you’re you, I’m me.

image

Maybe there’s still good in you.

image

But our path diverged a long time ago.

image

I trust you.

image

You betray me.

Round and round,

image

in circles we go.

image

See, Loki, life is about,

image

It’s about growth.

image

It’s about change.

image

But you stayed the same.

Anyway, I got places to be so good luck.

Let deeds match words.
