don’t worry – he just needs Darcy to help him on his quest because she can speak whale and read human. he wants to go find out where he came from since no-one told him he was actually a shark until he was an adult. I’m not sure how he ends up adopted, I feel like some researcher (for Hydra, which is a marine amusement park in this au, ok?) released the wrong shark baby into the water and they found him?? Anyway they go looking for Loki’s kind of shark mermaid and at first Loki’s just kind of meh about her like “yeah no she’s just my remora” which Darcy finds pretty offensive. But they get all the way up to the Greenland sea and Loki doesn’t really like what he finds because the other Jotun-sharks are much bigger than he is, and aren’t particularly nice, and maybe they kind of want to eat Darcy. but he convinces them not to because okay yeah maybe he likes her a bit too much to let her get eaten. And Loki can turn blue like the other Jotun-sharks but the water is just too cold for Darcy. So Loki has to choose: stay with his own kind but no-one from his old life can come with him, or go back with Darcy.
