This clip. Is one of my favorite Loki moments of all time.

Because as crazy as he’s gone since, we have to remember that Loki used to be the sane one. Like, the only sane guy in the room. Even at his schemiest (totes a word, shut up) and most mischievous, he was the smart one, the quiet one, the one who just really wished Thor would NOT.

And you know what they say about the quiet ones, when they finally do snap…

Never forget facepalming Loki. He’s still in there, somewhere. We hope.

As “funny” as this scene is could we just draw attention to the fact that 

1) he is rapidfire thinking of a new plot or spin even after his entire long-term plan was just destroyed in seconds,  which more than anything else is why he’s so clever, the adaptability and speed of his brain, 

and

2) his posture and stance in response to physical violence show that he learned a while ago to keep very still and very quiet and be very unobtrusive around loud, angry, foul tempered people (read: Odin and Thor).

#he doesn’t speak a word of dialogue  #and yet this is one of the most revealing scenes of his character that we ever get 

Whatever you cannot convey through words, your eyes will.

You can literally see the emotions in his eyes, the pain, the relief, the confusion, the heartache…fuck Tom Hiddleston is such a brilliant actor and he portrayed Loki so well in this scene (every scene) it completely shatters me when I see Loki’s expression at “I love you my sons”

he is positively brilliant. we are in trouble when the rest of the world catches up.
